Ajay Singh Deol aka Sunny Deol, 66, is an Indian actor, film director, producer & politician, best known for playing Tara Singh in the 2001 Box Office hit, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Sunny is also famous for his roles in Ghatak (1996), Ziddi (1997) & Border (1997).

Sunny will reprise his role in the upcoming movie Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which marks the 22nd anniversary of the film Gadar.

Sunny was born on 19 October 1956 in Sahnewal, Punjab, India. His father, Dharmendra, is a Bollywood actor and his mother, Prakash Kaur, is a housewife. Raised in a Punjabi Jat family with three siblings, a younger brother Bobby Deol and two sisters, Vijayta and Ajeeta.

Sunny is married to Pooja Deol (aka Lynda Deol; m. 1984) and the couple has two sons, Karan “Rocky” Deol (b. November 27, 1990) and Rajveer Deol (b. May 12, 1994).
